Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Subline, an iOS app operated by Float Labs Ltd ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them.
The app
Subline adds captions to videos you import from your device. Some features (cloud transcription, AI caption design, translation, Auto Clip) are part of Pro and send data to our servers for processing. Every new install includes them for three days at no charge.
Subscriptions
- Subline offers monthly and yearly Pro subscriptions purchased through the App Store.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- Every new install includes three days of Pro at no charge. It starts on first launch, needs no payment details and ends on its own; nothing is cancelled or charged. The trial is one per install and cannot be restarted.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests must be made through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your content
You own the videos, audio, and text you process with Subline. By using the app you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the app's features (for example: transcribing audio, generating caption styles, suggesting clip segments). We do not use your content to train models, and we do not retain it beyond what's necessary to fulfil the request (see our Privacy Policy).
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Subline to:
- Process content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes another person's rights (including copyright or privacy).
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or abuse the service, its APIs, or its rate limits. Cloud features carry daily fair-use limits, published on our support page, that are more than a heavy day of editing uses.
- Upload content that contains malware, exploits, or is designed to probe or attack the service.
Availability
We provide Subline on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Features that depend on external services (transcription providers, AI models) may occasionally be unavailable. We do not guarantee a specific uptime. On-device features depend on your device: the transcription model, and therefore the languages and quality available without a subscription, vary by iPhone model, and the app may switch to a smaller model on a device that cannot run a larger one.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £50. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to server-backed features if you breach these terms. You may stop using the app and cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where local consumer law gives you rights in your jurisdiction that cannot be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with the updated date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept the new terms.
